Presenting Our Calgary Chapter!

NIDO Canada is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that draws resources from the synergy of all Nigerian Professionals in Canada and its focus is on professional and entrepreneurial networking, technological and economic empowerment, as well as skills and cultural exchange for the implementation of projects in Nigeria.

NIDO Canada assists in promoting Nigeria as an investment destination in Africa and embraces and co-operates with other Nigerian organizations and associations in Canada to advance the interest of all Nigerians in Canada. The organization seeks the support of governments on a range of policy issues identified by its members.

NIDO Canada works with NIDO organizations around the world, and in particular with the Nigerian Government, to improve the lives of the people of Nigeria. NIDO Canada encourages its members to engage in practices that will enhance and promote the image of Nigeria abroad.

In conclusion, some of the main objectives of NIDO Canada are:

a) To promote the spirit of patriotism among Nigerians and to encourage their participation in
    the affairs and development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

b) To encourage networking among Nigerian professionals and entrepreneurs in Canada for
    the purpose of strategizing on pressing economic issues affecting Nigeria.

c) To enhance the image of Nigeria at home and abroad with a view of promoting business,
    travel, and investment opportunities in Nigeria

d) To provide advisory services, partnership opportunities, and general support with respect
    to development policies, organization, and implementation of developmental programs
    in Nigeria.

e) To build and operate a database of Nigerians in Canada with skills, resources and
    expertise in various disciplines, and make such database available to the benefit of
    the public and private sectors, the Nigerian Government and Nigeria's development
    partners. The database is only made available upon written request to NIDO Canada
    Secretariat. Such database is not distributed elsewhere without written approval of the
    Board of Directors of NIDO Canada.

The Calgary Chapter is headquartered in the “Heart of the New West”. Nestled in the foothills of Canada’s Rocky Mountains, Calgary is the capital of the Oil and Gas industry in Canada.
